The Ultimat Guide to DEFINING EYEBROWS
DEFINING EYEBROWS

Well-groomed eyebrows help draw attention
to the eyes and make them look bigger.
Eyebrow fashions change frequently, so the most
sensible option is to stick to a natural but cared-for
look, unless you deliberately want to create a
more dramatic and defined effect. Eyebrow color
should relate to your hair color and the overall
strength of the makeup you are using. It is often
better to choose a shade that is slightly lighter than
the color you first thought of.
STEP 1
IF necessary, pluck away any loose,
straggly hairs with a pair of tweezers.
Always pluck from underneath the brow
and pull hairs in the direction they arc
growing using a swift, sharp movement.
Pluck one hair at a lime, and remember it
is better to pluck too few than too many.
STEP 2
Brush eyebrows into
shape using a brow brush.
Work upward and outward to
give the brow more definition
and help open up the whole
eye area
STEP 3
With an eyebrow pencil, use light,
feathery strokes to fill in any gaps in
your eyebrows, Extend the eyebrow very
slightly at the outer corner and accentuate
the natural arch of the brow.
STEP 4
Brush through again with the brow
brush to blend in the eyebrow pencil,
again working upward and outward
STEP 5
To keep individual hairs in place,
spray a little hairspray onto an old.
clean mascara wand and comb gently
through the eyebrow.
THE FINISHED EFFECT:
The natural shape
and arch of the eyebrow has been gently
emphasized to help frame and accentuate
the whole eye area.
TIPS
• For a softer, more natural look, you
can use an eyeshadow rather than an
eyebrow pencil. Apply using a small,
pointed brush and then brush through.
• For Audrey Hepburn-style
eyebrows, brush brows upward
more vigorously and then soften
with eyeshadow.
• The best time to pluck your
eyebrows are after a bath or shower;
then the hairs will come out much
more easily.
