Particularly with gray hair, look out for expressive, flattering lipstick colors. Vivid nude shades and more intense berry and coral tones are just the thing.

I have selected colors to go with her gray hair that make her fair complexion look younger, more expressive, but very natural. The focus is on subtly emphasized eyes and importantly some blusher for added radiance.

1 CONTOURING

Use a moisturizing anti-aging
foundation with soft-focus pigments.
Cover any under-eye shadows or
red areas with concealer, and add
some shading.

2 BLENDING

Gently blend highlights and shading
with your fingers. The shading
sharpens facial contours and helps
the cheekbones stand out, while the
highlights emphasize other areas.

3 EYESHADOW

Apply a pale brown shimmer
eyeshadow over the eyelid, adding a
darker brown shade from the outer
corner of the eye to the crease.

4 HIGHLIGHTS

Pale nude highlights at the inner
corner of the eye open up the eyes
and make them look more alert.
Fill in the eyebrows subtly using
a brow powder.

5 BLUSHER

Apply a delicate apricot powder
blusher from the cheeks up to the
temples using a brush, and blend
in gently.
