She normally goes for a very natural look, but she wanted dramatic makeup for a special evening. Dark, shimmery eyeshadows in silver and black give this look a real wow factor.

1 EYES 1

Apply silvery gray eyeshadow over
the whole eyelid and blend softly
outward beyond the eyelid crease.

2 EYES 2

Blend in a black eyeshadow so
that you get a straight vertical line
at the outer corner of the eye.
This gives the look a strong,
modern appeal.

3 EYES 3

Use black kohl to draw a line along
the eyelid at the upper lash line and
along the lower waterline. Add
shading with a gray eyeshadow to
the lower lash line. Apply mascara
liberally to the eyelashes.

4 FINISH

Apply a peach blusher to the
cheekbones. Finish with a creamy
lipstick in a strong nude shade.

In Asian countries, real kohl is not only used as a cosmetic, but
also to protect the eyes. In these countries, kohl pencils often
have some camphor mixed in, which is supposed to be good
for dry eyes. There is no question kohl is great for adding eye
definition for the 40+ woman, and it lends a dramatic air,
particularly when applied traditionally along the waterline
on the lower and upper eyelids.
